I'm pretty positive most of you will know by now, but I thought I'd post it here too, because - obvious direct relation.

XF2 has been greenlighted by FOX

Because I'm a lazy fucknut right now, I'll refer you to xfiles for further information- there have been a lot of articles posted there.

Since this has taken the rest of the small breeze out of our sails - of which I look upon with a sad and a very, very, VERY happy eye - I wanted to know your opinions on how to proceed here. A lot of you have participated, some more than others, and I'd hate for all of that to have been for nothing...the situation, however, is still the same, which is that the rest of the letters haven't arrived yet.

Shall I go ahead and post the ones that I do have (Europe and South America) now?

And since FOX doesn't need to be begged anymore, do you reckon it would be better to send them to 1013 directly, simply to show our LOVE or utmost SUPPORT for what is about to happen in Vancouver?

Any ideas and suggestions (and squeeage if you totally can't hold back another time ;) is welcomed.

Wow, this is intense. Pardon my interruption but you're 100% right. Its not that difficult to drive to the post office and mail an envelope. Just leave 10 minutes earlier on your way work and mail them.

Thanks for supporting me- but this probably shouldn't have been read by anyone outside. I forgot to screen it.

well, I'm a very shy person and felt kinda awkward sending off the letter in the first place (but felt that it was for a good enough cause), so I'd be in favor of not sending the letters. Or maybe holding onto them until the movie finally premieres, just in case the project gets cancelled by some freak accident of corporate nature.

Nah, after all the work I and others have put into this, we'll be sending them for sure. Do you want me to take your letter out (provided I have it)?

I think the chances of it getting cancelled are pretty low now. ;)

I know it's been a long time, but are you still thinking of sending?

Yep, I was going to update after the holidays. Right now it looks like we'll be sending beginning of January.

I think the letters you have received need to be delivered now before it's too late (or more late).
Not sending them is a very bad idea. It's the effort of many many fans that participated and contributed in some way. It'd be very sad if all these ends in nothing.

I think your idea of sending them to 1013 instead of Fox is really good because since the movie is happening for sure Fox wouldn't care about our letters and would throw them to the trash. And 1013 at least would feel our support.

But my suggestion is to add a kind of note to the package explaining the reason of those letters. That it was a project started with the purpose of getting another X-Files movie into production and that we are happy now but we wanted to show them the proof that x-philes never crossed their arms!

DeeDee :)

Agreed, and mention that we want a theatre release!
a soul unboundso_vieh on November 3rd, 2007 04:12 pm (UTC)
That I can do, although I wouldn't really worry about THAT now. :)
a soul unboundso_vieh on November 3rd, 2007 04:10 pm (UTC)
Well, I planned writing a "cover"-letter about the project and everything anyway, and yes, I thought of mentioning what you suggested too. :) Thanks for agreeing. ;D

My only concern at this point would be FOX putting the movie out straight to DVD and not in the theaters. They need to know that there is an audience out there who will go see this movie and have been waiting a very long time for it and would be very upset if it went straight to DVD.
So, I'd say definitely send the letters but also mention the release issue as well. :)

With the amount of press this thing's been getting in the past few days - everything from SciFiNews to the BBC - I don't think a straight-to-video's in the future. I think there's enough dough in a theatrical release.

I agree with hulamoth, after all the obstacled everyone had to climb to get to this point, I don't think they'll produce it for straight-to-DVD-release. But I can certainly mention it. ;)
doggett_x on November 4th, 2007 08:28 pm (UTC)
Nah, its definitely getting a theatrical release. I think its July 25th, 2007. Which I will be buying multiple tickets for.
doggett_x on November 4th, 2007 08:29 pm (UTC)
I suggest sending them anyways, as a thank you.
a soul unboundso_vieh on November 14th, 2007 07:17 pm (UTC)
Yeah, we will asap. :)

something I found from X-Files Ultimate.com which got it from the X-Files Lexicon:
I have nearly negotiated a proposal with Chris Carter's assistant, Gabe, to have fans and webmasters ask questions to a staffer of 1013, with Chris's permission, about the 2nd X-Files Movie or Chris Carter might answer questions! At the very least, he's willing to look over questions.

This would be the fan's first opportunity to directly confirm or deny certain reports and rumors about the feature.

This is how it will work: Whoever submits a question that is selected, that person's name and location will be included. The deadline for submissions will have to be Dec 28.

So you heard the guy, send him your questions at this address:

Thanks for the info. That's pretty cool. :)
